The Chairs

The Chairs are a creative collaboration between Baltimore-based design studios, Surrounded by Color and Currency Studio. The base of the collection started from an iconic modern chair originally designed in 1927 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

This series of occasional chairs consists of six one-of-a-kind color and texture combinations, a Surrounded b y Color signature, utilizing vibrant painted bases and colorful Kvadrat fabrics. Each upholstered top and bottom is lined with Currency Studio's trademark vintage bankers bags. There are 4 unique combinations for each chair, as the construction is reversible and intentionally designed to be interchange-able.
